Medium Fortified Roof Replacement with Driftwood Shingles
Apr / 26Scope of Work
This medium-sized residential project involved a complete fortified roof replacement designed to meet enhanced storm resistance standards. The existing roofing system was carefully removed and replaced with upgraded materials and installation techniques. The project addressed structural vulnerabilities while improving the home’s overall weather protection capabilities. All work was performed to exceed standard building codes and qualify for FORTIFIED certification requirements.
Methods & Materials
Our team utilized Owens Corning Driftwood architectural shingles, known for their superior wind resistance and aesthetic appeal. The installation process incorporated reinforced attachment methods and sealed roof deck sheathing as part of the roofing services protocol. Advanced underlayment systems and enhanced flashing techniques were employed throughout the project. Our Slidell roofing specialists ensured proper ventilation integration and moisture barrier installation for long-term performance.
Project Details
The fortified roofing system features impact-resistant shingles rated for high wind speeds common to the Gulf Coast region. Enhanced nail patterns and adhesive strips provide superior attachment strength compared to standard installations. All penetrations were sealed with premium-grade materials to prevent water intrusion during severe weather events. The completed project meets IBHS FORTIFIED Home standards for roof covering, roof deck attachment, and sealed roof deck requirements.
